The Thai Immigration Bureau has officially launched THIM (Thailand Immigration Management System), a groundbreaking mobile and web platform designed to digitize and streamline the arrival and compliance processes for international visitors and long-term residents.  

Developed in partnership with Digital Identity Co. and powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS), THIM eliminates the hassle of paper arrival forms, cutting down initial immigration processing time to under three minutes.

The transition from manual paperwork to a cloud-native framework brings immediate conveniences for anyone crossing the Thai border.

• Digital Arrival Cards: Submit mandatory arrival information prior to landing. This eliminates paper forms and significantly reduces wait times at airport counters.
• Group Applications: Families or corporate groups can have multiple travelers added under a single trip submission.
• Smart Trip Management: Users can view upcoming itineraries, update travel details on the go, and receive automatic reminders for important deadlines.
• Speed and Efficiency: For returning visitors, basic personal data is securely retained, reducing the registration process for subsequent trips to under one minute.

While THIM currently focuses on streamlining border entry, the Immigration Bureau envisions the platform evolving into a comprehensive digital services hub. This is particularly significant for professionals managing international clients, expats, and foreign workers in Thailand.

Planned future capabilities include:

• Digital 90-Day Reporting: Allowing long-stay residents to complete their mandatory address reports directly through the app, reducing the need for physical visits to provincial immigration offices.

Currently available for pilot download on iOS and Android devices, THIM supports English, Russian, Japanese, and Chinese, with plans to expand to 15 languages by late 2026.
